Air Cargo Handler

 

Summary of the Classification:

The Air Cargo Handler loads and unloads all cargo on and off of the aircraft.

 


Principal Responsibilities:

 

¥      Verifies and maintains safety of aircraft, aircraft ramp area and aircraft cargo uploads and offloads

 

 

Performs many of the following responsibilities:

 

  • Pre-checks and operates fuel trucks, LOX Carts, stair trucks, aircraft tugs, baggage cart, mini-sweeper, generator start equipment and other aircraft support/servicing equipment
  • Maintains logs and records, as required
  • Assures needed supplies and equipment are available and ready to support operations
  • Coordinates with US Army units and Air Force Loadmasters to ensure cargo is loaded properly onto aircraft
  • Performs other related duties as required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and neat work environment at all times

 

 

Education Required:

High School diploma or equivalent


Experience Required:

Typically, a minimum of one (1) year of air cargo handling experience is desired



Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Is able to handle stressful job situation successfully, including working extended hours
  • Frequent interactions across functions require excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Requires working simultaneously on multiple projects and assignments
  • Requires the ability to communicate to a variety of personnel (military, civilians) and personnel from various geographical backgrounds

Hourly Rate:                        $                    10.14              

 

Base Salary:                        $             24,336.00              

 

Paid R&R:                           $               1,216.80              

 

Overtime:                             $             18,252.00
