Tire Shop Mechanic

 

 

Summary of the Classification:

Perform vehicle tire services, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTV) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
 

Principal Responsibilities:
 
¥      Requires the exercise of reasonable judgment and initiative
¥      Provide a safe and reliable vehicle upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance
 
 
Performs many of the following responsibilities:
 
  • Ensures all repairs and preventative maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
  • Performs vehicle servicing and repairs to maintain company standards.
  • Monitors equipment operation at job site and ensures that proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed.
  • Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure timely maintenance.
  • Promotes safety, awareness and teamwork.
  • Completes reports.
  • Maintains tools and equipments and ensures a safe and clean work area.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
 
 
Education Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.


Experience Required:

Minimum two (2) years experience in field maintenance. 


Special Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Must possess the ability to safely operate vehicles and shop equipment.
  • Requires specialized training in recovery operations and equipment repair or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of field services recovery equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Must possess a valid driver?s license.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Requires flexibility in working hours
