Heavy Vehicle Operator

 

 

Summary of the Classification:

Responsible for operating company vehicles, equipment and related assets for LOGCAP IV.
 


Principal Responsibilities:
 
¥      Operates company vehicles with capacity of up to thirty (30) tons both straight and combination of materials, tools and equipment to and from work locations in support of construction and maintenance as well as moving supplies for one warehouse to another.
 
 
Performs many of the following responsibilities:
 
  • Loads and unload vehicles
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
 
Education Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.


 
Experience Required:

Typically required three (3) to five (5) years of over the read related experience in a combination truck. 


 
Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Must have experience at couple and uncouple trailers, connecting or disconnecting air and electrical lines
  • Must be physically able to properly secure loads for transport using chains, grinders and straps
  • Bust be able to carry seventy (70) pounds unassisted multiple times through out an assigned shift
  • Must have a Class a CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
  • Must be qualified to operate M88A1 and M984A1
