Summary of the Classification:
Under supervision, maintains, repairs and services Power Generators.
Under supervision, maintains, repairs and services Power Generators.
Principal Responsibilities:
¥ Responsible for ordering and receiving service and replacement parts for Power Generators
¥ Coordinating and scheduling regular generator services
¥ Monitor loads and move/replace generators according to load requirements.
¥ Maintain generator and property movement logs.
Performs many of the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating generators and fuel tanks
- Responsible for inspecting and maintaining fuel tanks, fuel burners and electrical wiring
- Troubleshoots installations
- Performs minimal technical work with experiences systems supervision
- Walk through on new and existing construction sites to determine power assessments.
- Create the LDD (Lost Damage Destroyed) reports and incident reports
Education Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred graduate of an accredited diesel school.

Experience Required:
Typically a minimum of two (2) years experience in a mechanic role. Hands-on experience in repairing and replacing diesel/mechanical engines and generators may be substituted for school.

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Ability to interpret and apply manufacturers repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics and engineering drawings and diagnostic codes
- Requires a basic understanding of a variety of engines
- Must have the ability to perform maintenance on coolant, oil and fuel systems.
- Requires basic understanding of power generation, electrical safety and engine maintenance
- Have the ability to perform an extended load test
- Utilize electrical math formulas to meet the specifications of a proper load test
- Understand voltage, amperage, frequency and poser factors
- Understand the basic principles of electricity
