Seeking experienced Bulldozer Operator to Operate tractor equipped with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and distribute earth and to push trees and rocks from land preparatory to constructing roads and buildings. The D6 Dozer Operator is responsible for safe and effective operation of a D6 Dozer or equivalent model must also be experienced Motor Grader Operator able to operate self-propelled grader to spread and level dirt, gravel, and stone, to grade specifications in construction and maintenance of earthwork structures, such as highways, streets, airports, dikes, and temporary roads. The Motor Grader Operator is responsible for safe and effective operation of CAT 140H 14 Foot moldboard, Climate Controlled, with Night Time operating lights or equivalent model.
Principal Responsibilities:
Responsible for building burn pits.
Fastens attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge-pin hitches. Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachment.
Moves levers to control tool bars, carriers, and disks. Moves levers and depresses pedals to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to clear right-of-way.
Feels lever and listens for stalling action of engine to estimate depth of cut.
Drives bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.
May be required to work to close tolerances. Responsible for operating equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.
Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on tractor, using grease gun, oilcans, and hand tools.
Close interaction with the Military for the movement materials, supplies, equipment and setting.
Drives grader and moves levers to regulate height and angle of grader blade, lower scarifier that loosens packed soil to permit grading, and to tilt front wheels of grader when making sharp turns.
Drives grader in successive passes over working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of assisting worker, to level surface to specified grade.
Feels lever and listens to sound of engine to determine depth of cut.
May perform fine or rough grading
May operate tractor drawn grader to cut and smooth subgrade on street and highway paving projects.
Performs many of the following responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required
Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored
Education Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience Required:
Typically, three (3) to five (5) years experience.
Special Knowledge/Skills Required:
Drivers License Required
Knowledge of equipment safety, equipment maintenance and storage
Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to lift 70 lbs., bend, stoop and have ability to work around equipment, materials, supplies and other items required to be handled.
Work with limited supervision
Perform other duties as assigned and qualified. Position is an extreme danger zone where physical and mental stress is demanding. Living is in camp style conditions and restroom/bath and cafeteria are shared.
Must work minimum extended hours 7 days a week for long periods of time.
